Online
Demonstrations on Use of Vendor
Treatment and Return-to-Work Guidelines
Offered to System Participants
|
AUSTIN, TX -- The Texas Department of
Insurance, Division of Workers’ Compensation (Division) will offer
online vendor demonstrations on the use of vendor treatment and
return-to-work guidelines for disability management in the Texas
workers’ compensation system on April 10, 2007 and April 24, 2007. An
overview of the disability management rules will be included in each
demonstration.
Two online demonstrations, lasting about
two hours each, will be offered on each date at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Central Daylight Time. The demonstrations are free for all workers’
compensation system participants to assist them in determining their
business needs in purchasing the vendor products. Registration is
required at the non-agency website listed below prior to the
demonstration date.

A confirmation e-mail will be sent to
each enrollee with instructions for logging into the demonstration
session at the time and date selected. The confirmation e-mail also
contains information about compatibility of software used to view the
online demonstration.
The
Division disability management rules have established treatment
guidelines, treatment planning benchmarks, and return-to-work goals
and time frames for the workers’ compensation system. Beginning May
1, 2007, health care providers are required to use these guidelines
when providing health care to injured employees in the workers’
compensation system that are not subject to workers’ compensation
health care networks.
