TOA announces a new addition to our preferred vendor list:
The Ultrasound Store

Does Your Clinic Have Ultrasound Equipment Yet?

An Inexpensive, Portable Musculoskeletal Ultrasound instantly images joints and guides needles (more accurately). Receive $300 to $400 per procedure. Purchase, or lease the system for about $19 per day. Texas Orthopaedic Association Members will receive a 10% discount. Email ultrasoundstore@gmail.com for details and make sure they know you are a TOA member.

Why would an orthopaedic practice consider in-office ultrasound equipment? Here are real life examples of orthopaedic surgeons using office ultrasound for the first time and their experiences:

  • 7 ultrasound procedures were performed in one day totaling $2100 to $2800. The ultrasound leases for about $19 per day.

  • A surgeon placed the probe over the joints, easily imaged them, and followed the procedure needle to its target.

  • The same surgeon identified the shoulder joint and accurately inserted the needle into the adjacent tissue rather than the tendon.  Comment: “Without ultrasound, viewing the exact location of injections/withdrawals is uncertain and possibly not optimal.”

  • In a knee procedure, another surgeon was able to drain fluid from a tiny cyst (below the knee) rather than having to schedule surgery.

Financial Summary

Each doctor using the ultrasound receives from approximately $300 to $400 per procedure at a $19 daily lease cost.

Leasing also gives you the 100% equipment depreciation write-off.  Reducing (by a bookkeeping entry)-remove this your taxable income, so you pay thousands less in income taxes.

Training Summary

Full, expert in-office training for all physicians is available.

Again, for details, email ultrasoundstore@gmail.com , a BBB A+ Reliability Rated Company, and be sure to tell them you are a member of the Texas Orthopaedic Association to receive your discount.
